  • MapleStone is a Special Purpose Private School approved by the Department of Education and serves as an alternative placement for students with significant learning and emotional disabilities.

  • Students attending MapleStone need to be coded and have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

  • We serve schools in Southern Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

  • School takes place 4 days a week,

    Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 7:45am-2:15 pm.

    Wednesday – 1/2 day of school dismissal at 12 noon

  • Yes, we are certified through both the Maine Department of Education and New Hampshire Department of Education. MapleStone staff is Special Education certified as well as certified in CPR and Safety Care/Restraint Training.

  • Contact your Special Education Director in your school district to express interest in our program and in setting up a tour. Students need to be referred by their sending school districts.

  • Credits are recommended by MapleStone and are granted by the student’s sending school district.

  • Cancellations will be aired on Channel 6 (WCSH-TV) in Portland and WMUR (Manchester NH). You can also receive text alerts through WCSH – go to http://static.wcsh6.com/text-alerts/ to sign up.

    Cancellations will be listed as MapleStone.

    If the student’s sending school district has cancelled due to inclement weather, the buses will not be transporting to MapleStone (even if MapleStone is open).

  • 12-20 years old.

  • All our staff is Special Education certified through the State of Maine. We also have a full time Social Worker (LSCW) on staff.

  • No. We are a day program only.
